‘Exhausting Beauty’ – made between 1999 and 2002, and consisting of a set of of pencil and marker pen drawings and plaster reliefs, this show toured venues in Nottingham, Coventry, Leicester, and was shown in North Wales under the title of ‘With deceptive delicacy’.

The starting point for the work were examples of handmade lace in the Nottingham Lace Archive. Patterns from these samples unite and enmesh, as well as decorate, representations of the human body, flowers, insects and other characters such as toads and frogs.
